About the Role
We are looking for reliable casual vehicle delivery drivers to join the team. The role involves providing a professional driving service for delivering and collecting vehicles nationwide, assisting in vehicle preparation and cleaning, and conducting thorough inspections.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cleaning of vehicles prior to delivery.
- Carry out vehicle inspections prior to delivery for damage and/or missing items, recording findings on the Vehicle Inspection Sheet.
- Deliver vehicles to customers, garages, and other locations in a timely manner.
- Carry out vehicle collections, ensuring recorded inspections are made for damage or missing items and customer signatures are obtained.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and returned to the Rental Office.
- Enter vehicle movement information into the Rental diary.
- Comply with regulations governing driver hours and tachograph usage.
- Refuel vehicles before delivery to customers, ensuring appropriate fuel is used.
- Report all defects found on a vehicle prior to delivery and on collection.
- Report any dangerous incidents, occurrences, or faulty equipment to the Health and Safety Officer.
- Carry out vehicle checks for roadworthiness, fluid levels, and cleanliness when the vehicle is in control outside of working hours.
- Comply with road traffic regulations and drive in a safe, courteous manner.
- Ensure all issued equipment is maintained in accordance with instructions and health and safety rules.
- Assist other staff in vehicle preparation, such as cleaning.
- Comply with all instructions or site regulations regarding health and safety on company premises and delivery/collection sites.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year's driving experience.
- Must hold a valid category D1 driving licence.
- Maintain good working relationships with all members of staff and clients.
- Wear company uniform, including high visibility jackets/vests and ID badges, ensuring they are kept clean and presentable.
- Report for duty at specified times and ensure services run to agreed times.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
