About the Role

Pursuit is seeking a Career Coach to guide participants through their job search, focusing on the core outcome of Builders getting hired. This role involves coaching on search strategy, self-presentation, and adapting to a changing market, with direct accountability for placement.

Responsibilities

• Own job placement as the core KPI, proactively problem-solving to secure job offers.
• Coach Builders on effective job search skills through 1:1 sessions and group programming.
• Assist Builders in defining career goals and target roles.
• Develop Builders' networking skills through modeling, preparation, and real-time coaching.
• Track Builder activity and progress against job search goals, including pipeline reviews.
• Partner with the Jobs team to prepare Builders for hiring opportunities.
• Assess Builder job readiness and support them through interviews, negotiation, and offer acceptance.
• Help Builders refine AI portfolio projects to appeal to employers.
• Advise Pursuit on job-ready application materials and coaching practices, contributing to an AI-native career coaching function.

Requirements

• Passion for Pursuit's mission and experience or strong interest in working with adults from underserved communities.
• Familiarity with the current job market, ideally from a hiring perspective (recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, hiring manager/team lead).
• Understanding of job market nuances across different career paths.
• Experience in coaching and professional development, with the ability to inspire others.
• Data-driven and outcomes-oriented, comfortable using systems for progress tracking.
• Ability to provide constructive, specific, and actionable feedback.
• Focus on outcomes, not just effort, adjusting approaches to ensure placement.
• Deep care for equity, tech access, and expanding opportunity for underrepresented communities.

• $80,000 – $100,000 base + incentive compensation
