About the Role
RK&K is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor I or II to join their Construction Management and Construction Inspection team, primarily serving the Harrisburg/York/Chambersburg, PA area. Previous PennDOT experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned project elements as an owner's representative to ensure contract compliance.
- Assist in communication between field staff, contractor, design team, agencies, and citizens.
- Review project plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
- Provide technical guidance to the client and ensure quality of work.
- Track project schedules and make recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings, including progress and pre-activity meetings.
- Interact and build relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of PennDOT experience as a TCI-3 or higher with PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, and NICET Level II (Highway Construction) certifications.
- Minimum one year of PennDOT experience as a TCI-3 or higher with NICET Level III (Highway Construction) and either PennDOT Concrete Technician or NECEPT Field Technician certifications.
- Minimum four years of PennDOT experience as a TCI-3 or higher with two of the following: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, or NICET Level II (Highway Construction) certifications.
- Minimum five years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience with PennDOT Concrete Tech, NECEPT Field Tech, and NICET Level III or IV (Highway Construction) certifications.
- Minimum six years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection supervision/management experience acceptable to the Department.
- A Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or an active Professional Engineer’s License may substitute for four years of experience.
- A PE License can substitute for all NICET Level Certifications.
- An Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management may substitute for two years of experience.
- Ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work with exposure to construction-related hazards.
