About the Role
As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate assigned packaging machines to pre-established line run speed. You will ensure the optimum number of quality packages of product are produced, and check that products are dated and sealed in accordance with all safety, SOPs and cGMP guidelines and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage machines to perform at the desired, pre-established specifications.
- Ensure machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
- Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
- Provide direction to other line members and ensure smooth operation.
- Complete Packaging Filling Records.
- Visually inspect labels for defects and run samples.
- Record all machine actions by completing production logs.
- Produce High Quality finished goods at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Escalate quality, service, and equipment performance issues to supervision.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor which may become necessary to support departmental/organizational objectives.
Requirements
- High School degree or GED, desired.
- Prior working knowledge in a manufacturing, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry, preferred.
- Basic math and command of English reading and writing.
- Fluent in English and Spanish desired.
- Must be able to safely operate the machine for the intended purpose.
- Must be able to keep up with the line speed of machinery.
- Flexibility in work schedule, based on volume needs, which could require weekends, and/or working overtime during high demand.
- Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and adherence to defined procedures, safety rules and SOPs.
- Ability to work in various weather/temperature conditions to include heat, humidity and cold.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and loud production environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
- Attention to details.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed to support production schedules.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs./move heavy objects.
- Constant manual dexterity use.
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
