About the Role

Counseling In Schools (CIS) is seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Substitute Group Leaders to support NYC after-school programs serving students in grades K–8 throughout the 2026–2027 school year. Substitute Group Leaders will support Activity Specialists and program leadership in maintaining safe, structured, and engaging after-school environments.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and engaging groups of students during program activities
  • Supporting behavior management using restorative and positive youth development approaches
  • Assisting with attendance, transitions, and activity facilitation
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Supporting safe and inclusive program environments

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • DOE and DOH clearance required
