About the Role
Counseling In Schools (CIS) is seeking energetic, dependable, and youth-centered Substitute Activity Specialists to support NYC after-school programs for students in grades K–8 during the 2026–2027 school year. Specialists will lead engaging enrichment activities and provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading engaging enrichment activities and lessons
- Supporting youth development, SEL, and positive behavior management
- Creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for students
- Collaborating with after-school staff and program leadership
- Maintaining professionalism and positive communication with students, families, and school staff
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth
- Experience or training in a specialty area preferred
- Strong communication and classroom/group management skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and support diverse student needs
- DOE and DOH clearance required
