About the Role

The Assistant Director of Quality Improvement is responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of agency quality assurance plans and programs. This role involves participation in all aspects of incident management within a highly regulated environment. The position monitors the adequacy and appropriateness of program services, develops and implements evidence-based quality improvement and safety initiatives, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Define criteria (quality indicators), develop tools/trackers, and conduct/oversee regular reviews/observations to assess programs, individual care, program and clinical performance, and individual records in collaboration with the Sr. Director of QA/QI, program management, and staff.
  • Analyze trends, track follow-up, and develop response plans following site surveys and critical events with the Sr. Director of QA/QI, program management, and staff.
  • Manage and maintain Quality Reviews, Quality Initiatives, and other activities that produce better care, services, and/or more efficient operations.
  • Integrate QI plans and processes for individual services.
  • Serve as the agency's investigator for all incidents as needed.
  • Participate in department-wide on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Management, Business, Health Administration, or a related Human Services field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant job-related experience, preferably with quality assurance/improvement/safety, oversight/coordination of residential/other programs for individuals with disabilities, healthcare delivery, educational services, or regulatory compliance/accreditation/performance improvement.
  • OPWDD or NYS Justice Center Investigation Certification Training is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Health Administration, or a related Human Services field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant job-related experience, preferably with quality assurance/improvement/safety, oversight/coordination of residential/other programs for individuals with disabilities, healthcare delivery, educational services, or regulatory compliance/accreditation/performance improvement.
  • OPWDD or NYS Justice Center Investigation Certification Training is preferred.
