About the Role
As a Production Worker, you will play a key role in helping us meet goals and objectives by producing specialty materials for strategic end markets such as aerospace and defense, oil and gas, chemical processing, electrical energy, and medical. You will have the opportunity to work in either our Vacuum Induction Melting or Remelt department, quickly learning our manufacturing process and products while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Workplace safety is a core value, and you will ensure safe working operations and processes.
Responsibilities
- Material movement throughout the plant using mobile equipment such as cranes and lift trucks
- Setting up and feeding material into molds
- Arrangement and distribution of charge material that’s melted in the furnace
- Rebuilding tasks for anneal boxes and other crucial components to the manufacturing process
- Recording and tracking material specifications and manufacturing criteria/results for quality records
- Assist with set up and operation of equipment and material within the Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) process and Electro-slag Remelt (VAR) process
- Perform welding (MIG), cutting/sawing, and grinding using various machines and tools
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
- Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension. Ability to read instructions, do basic math and perform simple measurements is critical.
- Ability and willingness to operate and/or maintain a variety of operating units.
- Work shifts, weekends, and overtime in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely as a team member.
- Reading, math & problem-solving skills with electrical or mechanical aptitude.
- Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift hours, as well as weekends, holidays, and overtime (including up to 12-hour shifts) as needed.
