About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Private Equity Operations, will execute and manage operational activities within the private deal approval process, deal execution/settlement, and lifecycle management. This role involves coordinating functional groups during material events, overseeing private placement vendors, and enhancing processes and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all components of the private equity deal lifecycle, focusing on deal approval, pre/post execution, lifecycle events, IPO/liquidity exits, and corporate actions.
  • Coordinate deal approval and lifecycle management processes with private Issuers, internal teams, Legal Counsel, Investors, Trading, Fund Services, Business, Valuations, and back-office teams.
  • Analyze legal documentation for private transactions to operationalize each investment.
  • Track deal covenants, restrictions, and position changes during security creation and lifecycle events.
  • Coordinate activities for impactful events such as IPOs, cleaning of restricted shares, SEC registration, corporate actions, and distributions.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies on reconciliation reports to ensure the investment book of record is accurate daily.
  • Adapt and evolve processes, controls, workflows, and systems to support new private funds and asset classes.
  • Ensure stakeholders receive timely and accurate communication for operational events associated with private placements.
  • Support data needs for all functional teams involved in the private process, particularly for performance and internal/LP reporting.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of private equity, real estate, evergreen, and secondaries investments.
  • Experience reviewing private investment legal documents, restriction tracking, corporate actions, trade execution/settlement, and other lifecycle events.
  • Working knowledge of private fund structures.
  • Deep understanding of private equity investment concepts across various asset classes.
  • Experience with industry technology and platforms used in supporting private equity & real estate strategies (Dynamo, EDGAR, SEC.gov, IVP, Bellwether, and Geneva).
  • Ability to leverage strong technical skills to improve operational processes, such as SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel macros & AI.
  • Intellectual curiosity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and function with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to think critically to challenge the norm and propose new ideas and solutions.
  • Effective articulation with written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create compelling presentations using MS PowerPoint.
