About the Role
Our non-contentious Construction team is seeking an NQ-2PQE Associate to join the London office. This role is within a specialist Projects, Development & Construction Team that has established a strong reputation in various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Involve with projects from the outset and work with clients to shape their procurement and contracting strategies.
- Negotiate and draft all types of construction, development and project documentation.
- Prepare agreements that best reflect client interests and appropriate risk sharing.
- Advise on risks in live schemes, including payment advice, delays, fire stopping issues, and preventing project failure.
- Analyze contracts to inform clients of their rights and responsibilities and suggest next steps.
- Advise on termination consequences and insolvency issues.
- Advise on live projects to help avoid disputes and shape commercial negotiations and deals.
- Advise on a range of international projects across many jurisdictions.
- Work with a network of trusted international law firms and consultants.
Requirements
- NQ-2 years qualified.
- Previous experience of working within a construction team or housing practice.
- Mainly experience of non-contentious construction law.
- Experience of standard form construction contracts.
- Some experience of commercial and/or housing development work.
- Willingness to take on more bespoke, complex agreements, large scale due diligence exercises and/or typical development arrangements with appropriate supervision.
- Desire to know the sector and work we are involved in.
