About the Role

Educational Alliance seeks a full-time Social Worker to provide social work services and support to individuals and communities in need, assisting them in managing various daily challenges. The role involves working with clients facing issues such as neglect, abuse, domestic violence, mental health concerns, and parental substance abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate suspected allegations of abuse and neglect, ensuring client safety and well-being.
  • Assess and evaluate the needs of individuals and families to determine appropriate social work interventions based on social and economic obstacles.
  • Develop and implement care plans for clients' physical, emotional, and social well-being, subject to review.
  • Create comprehensive case files, court reports adhering to legal standards, and relevant reports/referrals within deadlines.
  • Accurately enter data online based on client interactions, assessments, and progress.
  • Provide counseling and support to individuals, families, and groups facing difficult situations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (psychologists, healthcare providers, educators) to coordinate services.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources like social services, healthcare, and education.
  • Monitor and evaluate intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Stay updated on social work best practices, research, and legal/ethical guidelines.

Requirements

  • NYS LMSW required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of interviewing principles and techniques for gathering facts from reluctant individuals.
  • Knowledge of human behavior dynamics, including individuals and families with diverse challenges.
  • Awareness of various treatment modalities for complex social, psychological, and economic challenges.
  • Analytical and stress management skills.
  • Adaptability to changing needs and demands.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
