About the Role
Base is seeking a Global Supply Manager to manage sheet metal and extrusion sourcing for structural metalwork, including panels, covers, straps, and heat plates for Core Batteries and Disconnects. You will own the commercial relationship with suppliers and drive cost reduction through should-cost models and negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial relationship with sheet metal and extrusion suppliers.
- Take over day-to-day ownership of aesthetic panels, top cover, straps, and the aluminum extrusion heat plate.
- Build and maintain should-cost models for stamped, formed, and extruded parts.
- Negotiate piece price, tooling terms, and master agreements with suppliers.
- Manage production escalations as the accountable party.
- Establish dual-source or bridge-supply coverage for high-risk parts.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing on design trade-offs and production issues.
Requirements
- Background sourcing stamped, formed, or extruded metal components.
- Fluency in tooling economics, process capabilities, and cost drivers across fabrication methods.
- Experience owning a commercial relationship with a contract manufacturer or metal fabricator directly.
- Comfort qualifying a bridge or backup supplier quickly.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
