About the Role

Provides expert vascular access services to clients, maintaining a high level of professionalism and skill within state and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs bedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
• Performs bedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters.
• Performs bedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters.
• Establishes access via intravascular ports.
• Examines, assesses, and evaluates patients with vascular access devices.
• Educates patients and family members on procedures.
• Answers questions regarding procedures.
• Educates staff when necessary.
• Documents procedures completed per client and company policy.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Completed vascular access competency skills checklist.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Demonstrates personal effectiveness and credibility.
• Maintains patient/client focus.
• Routinely uses portable ultrasound equipment, medical supplies, mobile phones, and computers.
