About the Role
Provides expert vascular access services to clients, maintaining a high level of professionalism and skill within state and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs bedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
- Performs bedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters.
- Performs bedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters.
- Establishes access via intravascular ports.
- Examines, assesses, and evaluates patients with vascular access devices.
- Educates patients and family members on procedures.
- Answers questions regarding procedures.
- Educates staff when necessary.
- Documents procedures completed per client and company policy.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
- Completed vascular access competency skills checklist.
- Proficient communication skills.
- Demonstrates personal effectiveness and credibility.
- Maintains patient/client focus.
- Routinely uses portable ultrasound equipment, medical supplies, mobile phones, and computers.
