About the Role
Unity is seeking an exceptional Documentation Manager to lead the Platforms & Ecosystems documentation team. This role involves transforming the documentation creation lifecycle to be AI-first, redesigning the technical writer function, and building a living knowledge system for both humans and AI agents.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Unity Platforms documentation team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Align team priorities with engineering and product roadmaps.
- Redesign the documentation creation cycle to be AI-first, utilizing generative AI for drafting, review, gap analysis, and maintenance.
- Direct the team's work in building and maintaining AI "skills" for AI assistants.
- Stay updated on AI advancements and ensure processes and roles remain performant and competitive.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver content effectively.
Requirements
- 8+ years in technical writing, developer documentation, or content strategy.
- 4+ years of people management experience.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, automation, and content workflows.
- Proven track record of leading a documentation or content team through major process or tooling transformation.
- Ability to define metrics and quality frameworks.
- Ability to influence senior engineering/product stakeholders.
- Sufficient knowledge of English for professional verbal and written exchanges.

- USA Zone A: $114,600 – $171,800 USD gross
- USA Zone B: $129,400 – $194,200 USD gross
- USA Zone C: $145,500 – $218,300 USD gross
- Canada Zone A: $107,700 – $157,700 CAD gross
- Canada Zone B: $116,300 – $166,300 CAD gross
