About the Role
Frontier-Kemper is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, New York. This role is crucial for ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in large-scale civil construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and site evaluations related to civil construction projects.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor air, water, soil quality, and waste management on construction sites.
- Perform environmental inspections and prepare reports, documentation, and permit applications.
- Identify potential environmental risks and provide recommendations for mitigation measures.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and delivery of environmental training programs for construction teams.
- Stay updated on environmental laws, regulations, and best practices related to civil construction.
- Support sustainability initiatives and the use of green technologies in construction projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated EHS experience in construction environments, including extensive on‑site field operations.
- Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) credential recognized by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Proven experience with hazardous waste management; chemical and petroleum storage; oil and chemical spill prevention and response plans; and remediation activities involving lead, PCBs, and asbestos.
- Working knowledge of stormwater management, soil management practices, and environmental permitting requirements.
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

- $90,000 - $115,000
