About the Role

We are seeking a Project Scheduler for our heavy civil division in New York, NY. Walsh is a fourth-generation, family-owned business that offers a small company feel with large company backing, focusing on technology and being the employer of choice.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a baseline schedule coordinating with project management, superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Implements, maintains, and analyzes project schedules using established best practices and scheduling software, including coding and loading of resources, costs, and general sequencing information.
  • Coordinates all project controls to assess risk according to best practices and standards.
  • Prepares risk and impact assessments for schedule changes and presents them to the project team.
  • Analyzes project schedule changes and their impact on cost and timeline.
  • Ensures documentation, analysis, and review of all project change orders and delays.
  • Communicates project timeline and cost impacts.
  • Leads project scheduling meetings with appropriate project management representation.
  • Prepares and distributes detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Works with accounting to forecast and manage the project budget in relation to the project schedule.
  • Performs claim mitigation, estimating, and prepares models for what-if scenarios and contingency plans.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of project scheduling experience.
  • Primavera experience required (P6 preferred).
  • Understand concepts of baseline schedule, progress schedule, recovered schedule, total float, critical path, predecessors, successors, near critical paths, float trending, percent complete, float ownership, and constraints.
  • Claim experience required.
  • Time impact analysis experience required.
  • Ability to make confident, timely, and fact-based decisions on a broad range of resources.
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking experience working in large teams and solving complex problems.
  • Some travel required.
