About the Role

Visa is seeking a dynamic and innovative Sr. Manager of Engineering to provide hands-on technical leadership for multiple development teams. This role focuses on defining, executing, and delivering large-scale, complex services and products powered by transformative technologies, cultivating a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

Create conceptual approach, technical analysis, design, development, unit testing, deploy, and support activities.
Collaborate with business partners on requirements elaboration, workflow design, configuration, and business re-engineering.
Lead agile development teams in designing, developing, testing, and supporting technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
Evaluate options and provide recommendations on scope and scale of effort required to implement final requirements.
Work on multiple projects and initiatives with different/competing timelines and demands.
Work with product partners to review and finalize technical specifications, code review, version management, and implementation related activities.
Work with limited direction in a complex environment to drive solution delivery and meet service levels.
Collaborate across global businesses and technology organizations, providing sound business analysis, process, and change leadership.
Hire and develop a diverse team of talented engineers.
Coach and mentor the team.
Participate in support activities such as troubleshooting, defect research, code promotion, and configuration.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
Hands-on experience with emerging technologies, including GenAI and ML.
Experience in reviewing business requirements and developing technical documentation.
Experience in designing and implementing testing procedures for APIs and integration patterns.
Experience in participating in design reviews and providing input on product designs and schedules.
Experience in leading teams to ensure productivity and high-quality delivery.
Experience in code review and accountability for development/testing activities.
Experience in technical evaluations and proof of concepts for new technologies.
Experience building micro services using HTTP, REST, JSON and XML.
Experience in managing distributed computing challenges.
Experience in fostering team collaboration and meeting business needs.
Experience in integrating emerging technologies into software engineering practices.
Strong experience in coordinating multiple product and technical teams, adept at removing roadblocks and collaboratively solving complex problems.
Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Experience delivering integrated solutions composed of both internally developed applications and third-party commercial offerings.
Proficient in measuring services from the user experience perspective, setting and monitoring SLAs and KPIs.
Payment industry experience is highly desirable.
