About the Role

AHRC NYC is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Manhattan ICF residence. This role involves supporting neurodivergent children and adults, promoting their skill development, and assisting with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of all safety and health considerations
• Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
• Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
• Cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.

Requirements

• Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred
• Professionalism, integrity, excellent communication skills
• Patience is a MUST
• Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings
• Ability to use a computer for data entry
• Weekend availability required for most positions
• Driver's license required for 40hr Evening shift (2pm-10pm)
• Driver's license NOT required for overnight shifts
