About the Role
The Insurer, now part of Reuters, is seeking an experienced Media Sales Executive to drive new and repeat business across advertising, partnership, and subscription revenue streams. This role is key to growing the client base and enhancing product offerings, focusing on driving the company's growth plan and setting long and medium-term strategies to meet commercial targets. The position suits an entrepreneurial seller who enjoys consultative work with clients in a trust-led industry, collaborating with marketing and other commercial units within Reuters to develop this fast-growing business unit.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new accounts within the global insurance industry and related sectors.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored content solutions.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Collaborate with the subscription sales team and other strategic B2B units within Reuters.
- Enhance services and explore new revenue opportunities by collaborating with clients and colleagues across Reuters Professional.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Engage with stakeholders across the insurance value chain to promote offerings.
- Refine commercial packages and pricing strategies in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
- Accurately forecast revenue and unit targets.
- Provide consistent updates of all CRM systems and reporting on market and competitor activities.
- Build and maintain strategic account plans for key target customers.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in sales and business development within the media industry.
- An interest in the insurance and reinsurance industries.
- A consultative approach to sales with excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to take a medium-to-long term strategic approach to key client accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Ability to understand client needs and deliver high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience of leading and driving opportunities from conception to close.
- Experience working collaboratively with other business units to achieve successful results.
- Experience developing and reporting on a sales pipeline.
