About the Role

The Air Gateway Agent is responsible for ensuring that all policies outlined in the Air Gateway Manual are adhered to at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Process and close MAWB for consolidations and back to back AWB’s.
  • Ensure that files contain all necessary documents and copies are in proper sequence.
  • Meet and exceed Internal and External customers’ defined needs and expectations.
  • Book space with carriers.
  • Ensure all MAWBs are rated correctly.
  • Obtain spot codes on all special negotiated rates with carriers.
  • Enter spot rates and codes in C1.
  • Track AWB and provide COB information to the respective branches.
  • Research on all CCA, weight and rate discrepancies sent by carriers.
  • File documents.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.
  • Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.

Skills

  • Knowledge of international and domestic geography.
  • Knowledge of freight / cargo industry, routing and transportation procedures.
  • Knowledge of negotiation strategies and practices.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • PC skills, MS-Office.
