About the Role
As a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at Walmart, you will support and oversee repairs within the Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills. You will use various tools and equipment to complete jobs in a fast-paced and welcoming work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training for safe equipment and tool operation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by adhering to safety policies and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.
Requirements
- 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
- Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
- Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
- Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
- 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Salary/Compensations
- The hourly wage range for this position is $42.00 - $84.00
- Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
