About the Role

Serve as a dedicated liaison to practice groups, developing and executing strategies and managing business development initiatives to enhance practice group profiles and foster cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with practice/industry leaders on marketing and client development plans.
  • Attend and contribute to practice/industry group meetings and planning sessions.
  • Track and analyze practice initiatives and their impact on the budget.
  • Identify and recommend business development opportunities and trends.
  • Evaluate business prospects and cross-marketing efforts.
  • Manage and refine business development processes and collateral.
  • Ensure quality control of marketing collateral, communications, and content.
  • Coordinate with Market Intelligence for industry and client research.
  • Facilitate the planning, implementation, and follow-up of new business opportunities.
  • Serve as lead project manager for RFPs and pitches.
  • Write new business proposals and respond to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Advise pitch teams in preparation and rehearsal.
  • Support post-pitch follow-up and debrief activities.
  • Lead preparation of submissions for rankings, awards, and surveys.
  • Shape Firm-hosted or sponsored programs and events with Regional Marketing.
  • Coordinate with the Communications team on PR opportunities.
  • Facilitate lawyer involvement in professional organizations to enhance visibility.
  • Assist with practice/industry team meeting planning, including agendas and content.
  • Assist with coordinating budgets.
  • Support agenda development and coordination of Business Development and Marketing team meetings.
  • Participate in hiring, managing, and developing junior team members.
  • Oversee daily operations and review staff work.
  • Manage professional development of staff, including goal setting, coaching, and training.
  • Prepare annual performance appraisals and provide timely feedback.

Requirements

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional marketing, business development, or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Supervisory, managerial, and/or project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of customer relationship, pipeline, and experience management databases such as InterAction, OnePlace, and/or Foundation.
  • Familiarity with company/market research tools and league tables such as CapitalIQ, Mergermarket, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work harmoniously and effectively with others.
