About the Role
Build, test, and operate autonomous security agents that protect Procore's platform, data, and users, transforming manual security tasks into self-correcting code. This role offers a direct path from operating security tools to building autonomous ones.
Responsibilities
- Implement and deploy security agents following defined patterns, owning them end-to-end.
- Write and maintain tools agents call, including cloud queries and API integrations, using Python or Go.
- Build and execute evaluation suites to measure agent accuracy and test for regressions.
- Automate recurring manual security tasks into autonomous or human-in-the-loop remediation workflows.
- Implement short-lived, least-privilege credentials for agent workloads.
- Monitor agents in production for performance and issues, and address root causes in code.
- Contribute to agentic pipelines for asset discovery and SBOM generation.
- Participate in agent logic and prompt reviews, document work, and provide on-call support.
- Provide on-call support on a rotational basis for owned agents and pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years in a hands-on technical security or infrastructure engineering role.
- Proficiency in Python or Go for software development, including tests and code review.
- Experience building or contributing to at least one LLM-powered tool or agent.
- Understanding of tool-calling, ReAct-style loops, and retrieval.
- Fluent but skeptical use of AI coding tools.
- Solid grounding in identity and access management (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SCIM).
- Experience with cloud and infrastructure security.
- Knowledge of common web/API vulnerability classes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS security services and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Understanding of how workloads obtain and use credentials.
- Working knowledge of AI-specific risks like prompt injection and data leakage.
- Willingness to treat prompts and agent logic as version-controlled, testable artifacts.
- Clear written communication and a collaborative attitude.
