About the Role
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for preparing patients to be seen by a physician or provider, ensuring timely patient flow, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment. This role involves assisting with procedures, documenting patient information, and ordering necessary supplies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all patients are seen in an expedient and timely manner in the examination rooms in the outpatient facility.
- Assist with the setting up and preparation of patient and equipment for procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the area, clean area after patient exams and procedures.
- Check patient vitals and document all intake information.
- Enter patient information in the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Review patient chart, make sure necessary paper work is available for the physician and for the patients.
- Collect urine samples.
- Order supplies and equipment for patient procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Graduate from a Patient Care Technician or a Certified Nursing Assistant program or six (6) months of direct patience experience or completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited Nursing program which included both didactic and clinical rotations.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Physician office experience.
- Physical ability to move 50 lbs. or more.
- Regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers.
