About the Role
coni + partner is seeking a Senior Tax Compliance Specialist for an international bank in Zurich. This role involves providing cross-functional tax compliance advisory for legal entities across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, with a focus on FATCA & AEOI compliance for investment funds.
Responsibilities
- Provide cross-functional tax compliance advisory for legal entities in Europe, the U.S., and Asia for investment teams, operations, institutional client solutions, finance, and tax.
- Ensure timely submissions of reporting.
- Act as an expert in FATCA and AEOI tax compliance for new and existing registered funds and investment vehicles.
- Provide tax due diligence and structuring support.
- Offer risk-based support to specialist teams.
- Review self-certificates at both entity and investor levels for completeness and accuracy.
- Participate in product development of various investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
- Review tax returns prepared by external advisors and the quality of tax reporting to investors.
- Support the annual tax compliance process.
- Provide support for regulatory filings (e.g., form W-8/W-9, 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, N-CSRs, or prospectus updates).
- Assist with day-to-day oversight of legal matters.
- Support day-to-day European tax matters relating to private-market funds.
- Provide regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel.
- Prepare reports for the investment team and senior management.
- Monitor changes in international and domestic taxation rules and their impact on the private market business.
Requirements
- Degree in Law or Business Law.
- Legal experience in the fund industry with a top-tier law firm or Big4 tax consultancy.
- Familiarity with fund structures, transactions, and all-round knowledge of tax (FATCA/CRS).
- Knowledge of different jurisdictions with funds domiciled in Luxembourg, Ireland, Delaware, Cayman Islands, etc.
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work with and organize a variety of documents.
- Ability to work in a team.
