About the Role
A family in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn is seeking a Part-Time Japanese-Speaking Nanny to care for their young son, born in June. The role begins in September with a flexible schedule of approximately 4-5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The primary responsibility is providing attentive and engaging care, including taking the child to the park and speaking Japanese naturally. English communication with the mother is also required. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys active engagement with a young child and seeks a consistent part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for one young child
- Engage in age-appropriate play and activities
- Speak Japanese throughout the day to encourage language exposure and development
- Planning neighborhood activities and outings
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and positive environment
- Assist with child-related tidying and organization
- Help with light housekeeping or household maintenance when time permits
- Communicate clearly with parents regarding the day, schedule, and needs
Requirements
- Native Japanese speaker
- English-speaking with the ability to communicate comfortably with parents
- Warm, nurturing, patient, and engaging personality
- Genuinely enjoys spending time with young children
- Dependable and responsible
- Comfortable taking a child on neighborhood outings and activities
- Able to work independently and follow the parents’ preferences
- Willing to assist with light household tasks when appropriate
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday
- Commitment to a consistent, long-term part-time position
- Comfortable being paid legally as a W-2 employee
- Able to begin in September
- No travel required
- Fully Vaccinated (including flu, COVID not required)
