About the Role
We are seeking a creative and highly motivated Research Associate to join our Discovery Biology team. You will work closely with members of the drug discovery team to conduct and oversee biological testing of new inhibitors.
Responsibilities
- Executing in vitro experiments to identify and characterize compounds with biological activity, specially viral infection inhibitors.
- Developing, optimizing, and validating biochemical and cell-based assays to support ongoing discovery projects.
- Making detailed observations, analyzing data, and interpreting results in collaboration with senior research members.
- Supporting multiple projects and learning new techniques for novel exploratory discovery work.
- Presenting experimental findings, assay results, and scientific rationale clearly to internal project teams.
- Utilizing data analysis software and MS Office applications.
- Managing compound inventories and assay data.
- Participating in general lab maintenance including reagent preparation, ordering of general lab supplies, and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in industrial or academic settings, preference given to experience in a drug discovery setting.
- Must be comfortable working in a BSL2 setting with potentially infectious agents.
- Demonstrated expertise in ensuring good laboratory practices and BSL2 standards.
- Ability to clearly summarize and present experimental findings, data interpretation, troubleshooting outcomes, and scientific insights to support assay optimization and compound characterization.
- Motivated, and proactive cell biologist and/or molecular virologist with desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, molecular cloning programs, GraphPad Prism and scientific informatics tools for data input, analysis, and management.

- $87,000 - $91,260 annualized
