About the Role

This on-site, contract position focuses on Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Primary Care, providing an excellent opportunity for an associate-level clinician to deliver high-quality patient care in a supportive, community-focused environment. As a Locum NP/PA, you will work directly with patients to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. You will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care across our practice. This role is ideal for a motivated clinician looking to make a meaningful impact in the community while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic medical practice setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses common in family medicine, internal medicine, and primary care
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on clinical findings and patient needs
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work, imaging, and other procedures
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments within the scope of practice
  • Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and treatment adherence
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development within the practice
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, clinical guidelines, and standards of care

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program
  • Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in the state of New York, or the ability to obtain licensure
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care preferred
  • Associate-level clinical experience, including clinical rotations, residency training, or prior locum assignments
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective patient and team interaction
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and telehealth tools
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
  • Must be board-certified
