About the Role

This senior sales leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing U.S. Bank's Payments, Merchant, Card, Treasury Management, and Deposit growth strategy across the Public Sector Group within the Institutional Client Group. The leader will set strategic direction, build sector-specific sales capability, and lead a high-performing organization focused on delivering the full Payments, Merchant, and Institutional value proposition.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sector-aligned growth strategy that brings together Merchant, Card, Treasury Management, Deposits, and broader PMI capabilities into a unified market approach.
  • Serve as the senior sales leader accountable for sales strategy, execution discipline, pipeline quality, revenue realization, and deposit growth across assigned public sector verticals.
  • Lead a large, complex industry group covering more than 10,000 relationships, ensuring clear prioritization, differentiated coverage, and consistent execution at scale.
  • Partner across Banking, Product, Sales, Risk, Credit, Operations, Compliance, and Marketing to align priorities, remove friction, and deliver stronger outcomes across the full payments ecosystem.
  • Build sector-specific value propositions that connect industry trends, payment flows, liquidity priorities, merchant acceptance needs, card opportunities, treasury transformation, and deposit growth.
  • Lead disciplined sales management routines, including strategic account planning, opportunity inspection, pipeline governance, calling intensity, deal strategy, and growth accountability.
  • Accelerate adoption of an end-to-end selling model that moves beyond individual products and connects the full power of U.S. Bank to market opportunities.
  • Identify and activate expansion opportunities across priority sectors, with a specific focus on low-cost operating deposits, merchant growth, commercial card adoption, treasury modernization, and integrated payables and receivables solutions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber sales talent while building a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, preparation, and performance.
  • Represent PMI as a senior voice across enterprise forums, ensuring the business is aligned to broader strategic priorities and positioned for sustained growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in sales, banking, payments, treasury management, merchant services, commercial card, public sector banking, or related financial services businesses.
  • Proven track record leading a large, complex business or sales organization with measurable growth outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build sector-specific strategies and scale them through high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales management discipline, pipeline governance, opportunity management, revenue realization, and performance accountability.
  • Experience partnering across product, banking, credit, risk, operations, compliance, and marketing functions to drive enterprise priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
