About the Role
As an associate, you will learn everything about chocolate from its origin to production and become an expert taster of our drinks, treats, and bars. You will provide thoughtful service to guests, maintain the café, and contribute to operational improvements. This role starts at $21/hour plus tips.
Responsibilities
- Create hot chocolate drinks, espresso drinks, and brew coffee with a consistent level of excellence.
- Answer questions about chocolate and coffee products, including allergen information.
- Make recommendations for pairing chocolate with espresso drinks.
- Provide guests with an amazing drink and pastry experience.
- Be timely, dress professionally, and develop long-standing relationships with guests.
- Prep plated items and ensure the chocolate salon is well-kept and welcoming.
- Identify ways to improve operating procedures, checklists, and documentation.
- Be a positive, team-oriented player who uplifts coworkers.
- Perform other tasks as necessary.
Requirements
- Must have evening and weekend availability.
- Must be able to work 32-40 hours per week.
- Ability to develop a quick rapport with customers and detail the chocolate making process.
- Proven ability to work well within a team environment.
- 1-2 years of retail or customer-facing work experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience making espresso drinks is a plus.
- Fluent spoken English is required.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
- Must obtain a California Food Handler card within 30 days post-hire.
