About the Role
SkyWater is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician- Central Utilities to join their team in Austin. This role is crucial for maintaining essential semiconductor manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cooling systems, including chillers, glycol chillers, cooling towers, process cooling water, and water treatment.
- Perform refrigerant removal and charging for chiller systems.
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems, including FTUs, make-up air handler units, and DX units.
- Ensure cleanroom sustainability through characterization, instrumentation, filters, and material management.
- Operate and maintain hot water systems (boilers), compressed air systems, and process vacuum systems.
- Perform repairs on boilers.
- Operate and maintain scrubbing systems and general exhaust.
- Monitor equipment operations and respond to alarms.
- Perform mechanical repairs and assist with maintenance tasks.
- Obtain bids, issue purchase requisitions, and coordinate contractor work.
- Maintain inventory and spare parts.
- Review and ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule and to specification.
- Implement or modify preventative maintenance plans.
- Participate in department operations and SPC meetings.
- Monitor SPC in accordance with facilities specifications.
- Support root cause analysis for incidents.
- Work within defined technical processes and procedures.
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adapt quickly to accomplish goals.
- Maintain area upkeep and 5S principles.
- Adhere to environmental health and safety policies.
- Complete job hazard assessments with contractors and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally and escalate issues as needed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Maintain and create standard operating procedures.
- Perform detail-oriented record keeping and reporting.
- Complete tasks required for facility maintenance.
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack.
Requirements
- 8+ years of manufacturing or operations experience.
- Experience with boiler repairs.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting that includes bending or crouching.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Mechanical aptitude
- Minor electrical proficiency
- Minor controls proficiency
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (desired)
