About the Role
Herc-U-Lift, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join their service and repair team. This fast-paced role involves traveling to customer locations to repair material handling equipment, MEWPs, and rail car movers, managing your work independently like a small business, and utilizing a company van and tablet for job management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
- Completes diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns in material handling equipment.
- Performs disassembly, repair, and reassembly of various equipment components.
- Orders and installs replacement parts for machines in coordination with the parts department.
- Maintains technical knowledge of all equipment brands.
- Utilizes tools of the trade, including precision instruments, welding equipment, and power tools.
- Requires minimal supervision and assists other technicians.
- Maintains personal parts inventory for van stock.
- Follows all safety protocols.
- Completes and submits all required paperwork.
- Provides excellent customer service and offers additional services.
- Manages workload effectively.
- Adapts to changing job duties based on company or customer needs.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and/or charging systems.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
