About the Role
We’re looking for a sharp, reliable Junior Editor to help us publish high-quality content at scale. You’ll review articles before publication, making sure they are accurate, polished, engaging, and optimized for search. This is a high-volume editing role for someone who is fast, meticulous, and takes pride in getting the details right.
Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread articles before publication.
- Fix grammar, spelling, structure, and readability issues.
- Fact-check names, dates, statistics, and key claims.
- Optimize content for SEO and reader engagement.
- Improve headlines, formatting, and article structure when needed.
- Ensure articles follow Military.com’s editorial standards.
- Flag inaccuracies or issues before content goes live.
- Work efficiently through a consistent volume of articles and deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in editing, proofreading, journalism, or digital publishing.
- Excellent command of written English.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong fact-checking skills.
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital content.
- Available to work within Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.
