About the Role
The Partner, Market Leader acts as a senior wealth advisor and leads a small team of advisors. This role focuses on deepening relationships with high-net-worth clients, organically growing the practice through referrals, and leveraging in-house experts to help clients achieve their financial goals. As a team leader, the Partner apprentices and develops advisor team members to maximize client excellence and growth.
Responsibilities
- Partners with affluent clients to identify financial goals, analyze financial landscape, and develop recommendations.
- Communicates complex financial solutions to clients using interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ensures client retention by building meaningful relationships and implementing appropriate financial solutions.
- Leverages Mercer’s broad set of solutions including tax, estate planning, and insurance for comprehensive client offerings.
- Works with advisor team members to deliver client outcomes, providing feedback, coaching, and leadership.
- Ensures adherence to compliance and regulatory policies, as well as company standards of client care.
- Collaborates with business development professionals to build out the market through referral channels and centers of influence.
- Helps identify and lead the cultural integration of acquired wealth management practices.
- Acts as a fiduciary, prioritizing client interests and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance related).
- 15+ years of job-related experience.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required. In lieu of CFP, ChFC, PFS, CFA, or CIC may be acceptable.
- Series 65 required, unless designations qualify for an exemption.
- Advanced knowledge of the industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to effectively present investment, finance, and tax planning solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of the economic landscape and its impact on the Firm and clients.
- Experience utilizing financial planning software.
- Expertise in collaboration and willingness to help others.
- Sales aptitude and experience preferred.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and growth-mindset, with a positive attitude.
- Strong core understanding of investments and ISG, with the ability to perform asset allocation and analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as required.
