About the Role
As Director, People Partners for Product, Design & Engineering (PDE), you'll partner with leaders responsible for building Figma and lead a team of highly skilled People Partners. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding the organization through rapid growth, reorganization, and change. You will collaborate with all People functions to build a best-in-class people function. This role is ideal for someone energized by ambiguity, adept at building deep relationships, and excited to shape the future of People Partnering at Figma.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic People Partner to Figma’s CTO and Chief Design Officer, building credibility and trust to influence leadership decisions.
- Lead and develop a team of People Partners supporting Product, Design, and Engineering.
- Execute People Programs including org design, resource management, performance, and change management during periods of rapid scaling and shifting priorities.
- Drive core people cycles such as performance, calibration, talent reviews, and succession planning, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Partner across the People function and with cross-functional teams to execute the People strategy for the PDE organization.
- Utilize data and insights to inform strategies, measure impact, and communicate effectively with leaders.
- Shape and scale the People Partner function by developing partners, strengthening the operating model, and setting a standard for excellence.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a People Partner leader in high-growth environments, including team management and direct partnership with executive leaders.
- Proven track record supporting Product, Design, and/or Engineering organizations with a strong understanding of how these teams operate.
- Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to develop deep product and technical knowledge and understand business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and advise senior leaders, influencing decisions and outcomes.
- Resilience and the ability to remain grounded in fast-paced environments.
