About the Role
SSOE's Tool Install division designs and engineers complex process equipment for semiconductor fabs and advanced manufacturing facilities. The structural team ensures precision, safety, and technical excellence in tool installations. This role focuses on creating, standardizing, and optimizing structural design packages for semiconductor process tools and automated material handling systems, ensuring seamless integration into facility layouts and environments.
Responsibilities
- Interpret, extract, and analyze technical documentation to prepare drawings and equipment layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop design templates, 3D models, and drawing sheets using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring accuracy and BIM coordination.
- Create and maintain AutoCAD drawing templates, blocks, and layer standards for semiconductor facilities.
- Stay current with Revit updates, BIM workflows, and emerging design technologies.
- Apply discipline-specific design standards, codes, and best practices.
- Work under minimal supervision, with occasional work effort checks.
- Manage time effectively to multitask and meet design deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, leads, and other design disciplines.
- Provide on-site project observations or field measurements as needed.
Requirements
- High school or associate degree with a focus on architectural design, engineering design, or drafting.
- 1-2+ years as a designer or drafter using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Prior experience in industrial design projects (Automotive, Manufacturing, Data Centers, Semiconductor industry) is a plus.
- Ability to provide on-site support for field measurements and observations when required.
