About the Role

Provide care for children while parents workout in the gym, overseeing and supervising all children through independent and group activities, exercises, and keeping them occupied.

Responsibilities

  • Care for children in a defined area of the gym for attending member(s).
  • Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games.
  • Read to children and participate in activities like painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
  • Care for children with disabilities, including securing them in equipment.
  • Maintain security records for individual children, ensuring registration forms are on file.
  • Ensure children are checked-in per guidelines and parents provide proper identification.
  • Organize and store toys and materials to maintain order in the Kids Club area.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the Kids Club area as needed.
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment.
  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Interact with children in a positive and age-appropriate manner.
  • Assist in planning weekly art projects with the Kids Club team.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as supply sheets, incident reports, and check-in/out sheets.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend all required staff meetings.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or 2 years prior work experience in a daycare/childcare environment required.
  • Infant and Child First Aid/AED and CPR certification required.
  • Excellent communication with children required.
  • Excellent communication with adult parent(s) required.
  • Ability to make children feel secure.
  • Encouraged to enroll in formal programs with courses in education, nutrition, psychology, and speech.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time.
