About the Role
The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. This role is crucial in ensuring students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA’s AP for All initiative. This position is grant-funded with Title I Part A funds, and employment is not guaranteed indefinitely.
Responsibilities
- Teach Critical Student Intervention (CSI) instruction utilizing on model programming for small groups of students in 3rd-8th grade that are academically at risk in reading and/or math.
- Teach district approved research-based intervention to small groups of students in Kinder-2nd grade (dependent on campus assignment) that are academically at risk in reading and/or math.
- Teach district approved research-based intervention to small groups of students in 9th-12th grade (dependent on campus assignment) academically at risk to graduate.
- Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate support for students requiring intervention.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
- Learn, master and deliver relevant content and grade level curriculum, core content objectives and texts.
- Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
- Implement formal and informal assessments to track individual student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
- Update gradebook weekly.
- Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis.
- Effectively facilitate and use technology as a communication and educational tool.
- Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus-wide initiatives.
- Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment.
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.
- Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions.
- Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development.
- Spend a minimum of 40+ hours at school per week.
- Provide after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
Requirements
- High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
- Submit official electronic service records from previous educational employers to validate professional experience and determine creditable years of service and compensation.

Salary/Compensations
- $59,500 (starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience)
- Eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each.
- Additional performance-based compensation.
- Additional hourly compensation is provided for after school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.
