About the Role
Regeneron is seeking a Principal Scientist to join their Genetic Medicines team, focusing on advancing the preclinical development of targeted genetic medicines for central nervous system disorders. This role involves designing and leading experiments in CNS disease models within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Design experiments to evaluate the efficacy, target engagement, and delivery efficiency of viral and non-viral therapeutic candidates across CNS disease models
- Design AAV transgene cassettes to optimize therapeutic efficacy
- Lead a team of associates in the execution of experiments and analysis of primary data
- Interpret complex datasets, integrating findings with current scientific literature to propose data-driven next steps
- Communicate project strategy, scientific vision, and data updates to senior leaders
- Author and review preclinical study reports to support regulatory submissions
- Approach scientific problems with an engineering mindset and a design-build-test-learn framework
- Coach and mentor junior scientists within a multidisciplinary team environment
Requirements
- Experience evaluating DNA- or RNA-based therapeutics in small-animal models
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques
- Experience mentoring and managing research associates
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
