About the Role
As a TEM Analysis Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you will perform TEM analysis on semiconductor devices to understand profiles, critical dimensions, chemical composition, and defect occurrence. Your in-depth reports will aid decision-making for tool status, process adjustments, and wafer disposal, crucial for meeting Fab yield, TAT, and cost reduction goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate TEM tools of various models to perform timely and high-quality analysis and generate in-depth reporting.
- Collaborate with customers to understand demands, interpret TEM analysis results, identify defect root causes, establish failure models, and determine counter measurements and validation plans.
- Collaborate with the Ops team on TEM sample quality improvement and development of sample preparation best-known methods for advanced techniques.
- Recognize opportunities and lead projects for analytical work improvement in terms of quality, TAT, and cost.
- Perform level-appropriate tool maintenance.
Requirements
- B.S. or higher degree in Materials Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with structure analysis tools is required.
- Basic knowledge of semiconductor processes and device physics.
- Prior experience in materials physics and chemistry.
- Ability to conduct scientific research on novel semiconductor defective issues and write scientific papers.
- Previous experience on defect root cause analysis and failure modeling is desired but not required.
- In-depth knowledge on advanced node process integration is desired but not required.
