About the Role
L+M Development Partners is seeking a construction professional to organize and direct construction activities within an assigned area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with contract documents, schedule, quality, safety, and budget. The role involves managing onsite activities, administering subcontractor contracts, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly look-ahead schedules for a project.
- Serve as Lead Superintendent during critical project junctures if needed.
- Manage multiple staff members.
- Ensure field manpower is organized, effectively utilized, and qualified, including subcontractor manpower.
- Manage onsite activities and administer contractual activities of subcontractors and vendors.
- Prepare reports and forecasts, keeping supervisors informed of progress.
- Implement procedures to ensure construction operations adhere to contract documents, schedule, quality standards, and budget.
- Prepare daily construction reports and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with all project participants, demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Analyze and develop details per contract documents, producing new methods for implementation where required.
- Verify completion of work orders in the field.
- Ensure safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to, and that tools and equipment are safe and operated safely.
- Recognize problems, evaluate facts, and resolve issues efficiently, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards field work and demonstrate sound judgment in field decisions.
- Determine assignment priorities based on critical deadlines.
- Work independently.
- Develop and train subordinates.
Requirements
- Understanding of all phases of construction operations including engineering disciplines, means and methods, and field management.
- Strong knowledge of safety compliance including federal, state, and local safety codes.
- MS Word and Excel are required.
- AutoCAD is recommended.
