About the Role
Assists with routine lawn and property maintenance and the removal of Hydrilla, an invasive aquatic plant, from the lake. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive grounds.
Responsibilities
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
- Operate and perform basic care of lawn and grounds-maintenance equipment.
- Remove leaves, branches, debris, and other materials from lawns and common areas.
- Assist with planting, weeding, mulching, and general landscaping as needed.
- Assist with identifying, removing, and disposing of Hydrilla and other invasive aquatic vegetation from designated lake areas.
- Use hand tools, aquatic-vegetation removal equipment, and other equipment as directed and trained.
- Help keep lake shorelines, paths, and surrounding grounds clean and well maintained.
- Follow all safety procedures when working around water, equipment, and chemicals.
- Report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or significant aquatic-vegetation growth to the supervisor.
- Perform other grounds and maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous lawn care, landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
- Willingness to learn proper procedures for Hydrilla removal and aquatic vegetation management.
- Able to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds or more regularly.
- Ability to climb a 15-foot extension ladder and work while scaffolding.
- Able to perform the necessary job functions in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time (indoor/outdoor).
