About the Role
Seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Resident Assistant (RA) to supervise international middle and high school students in a residence hall on the Mitchell College campus in New London, Connecticut. This 10-month live-in position involves evening and weekend supervision to ensure student safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for international students during evening and overnight hours
- Conduct nightly room check-ins to ensure students are accounted for and following residence guidelines
- Be physically present in the residence hall from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM on assigned duty nights
- Monitor student conduct and provide basic support as needed
- Respond to minor issues or escalate emergencies to the House Parent or emergency services
- Help foster a respectful, community-oriented atmosphere
Requirements
- Fluency in English required
- Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred
- Experience working with youth or in residential settings is a plus
- Reliable, responsible, and comfortable enforcing rules and boundaries
- Valid driver's license preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
