About the Role

Seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Resident Assistant (RA) to supervise international middle and high school students in a residence hall on the Mitchell College campus in New London, Connecticut. This 10-month live-in position involves evening and weekend supervision to ensure student safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for international students during evening and overnight hours
  • Conduct nightly room check-ins to ensure students are accounted for and following residence guidelines
  • Be physically present in the residence hall from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM on assigned duty nights
  • Monitor student conduct and provide basic support as needed
  • Respond to minor issues or escalate emergencies to the House Parent or emergency services
  • Help foster a respectful, community-oriented atmosphere

Requirements

  • Fluency in English required
  • Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred
  • Experience working with youth or in residential settings is a plus
  • Reliable, responsible, and comfortable enforcing rules and boundaries
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
