About the Role

Humber River Health is seeking a Unit Aide for its Emergency Department, which serves over 110,000 patients annually. This role is crucial in providing timely and compassionate emergency treatment, utilizing a custom combination of technology and clinical expertise to improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform Unit Aide duties in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain and order supplies in rooms and the department.
• Stock rooms with required supplies and linen.
• Clean equipment and ensure its functionality.
• Ensure sufficient supplies are available for patient care until the next ordering shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
• Good command of the English Language, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physically able to push stretchers, lift and store linen and surgical supplies, and clean stretchers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
• An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
