About the Role

This internship offers a unique opportunity to support the Institutional Sales team at Mackenzie Investments, a key part of IGM Financial. You will gain exposure to the investment management industry while contributing to sales, client service, and business development initiatives. The role is based in our Toronto office for the winter term (January to April 2027) and provides a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing client presentations, meeting materials, pitch books, and proposal responses.
  • Conduct market, industry, and competitive research to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support CRM maintenance, pipeline reporting, and tracking of institutional sales activities.
  • Contribute to special projects aimed at improving team processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency, including the use of AI and technology tools.
  • Develop an understanding of institutional investment products, portfolio construction, and the Canadian asset management industry.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, investing, asset management, or institutional client relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify key insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional presentations and reports.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgment & decision-making skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Comfortable with technical assignments and a high level of numeracy skill.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Power BI, or data visualization tools is considered an asset.
  • Must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.
  • Must be returning to school after the internship.
