About the Role
Ethoca, a Mastercard business unit, is seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineering Manager with a strong technical background to lead their platform evolution towards a distributed cloud architecture. This highly visible role involves managing Scrum Teams, overseeing their development process, and ensuring project delivery and execution while collaborating across departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop high-performing scrum teams to build, enhance, and support applications/services.
- Collaborate with business/product owners to develop and deliver new services and enhance existing products.
- Ensure successful delivery of team commitments.
- Lead, maintain, and improve Agile Development Practices and Processes within the team.
- Participate in and champion department-wide initiatives to improve Agile Development Practices.
- Demonstrate strong technical leadership and people management skills, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and motivation.
- Drive the successful delivery of regular software releases in an Agile Scrum environment with a focus on continuous integration and automation.
- Exemplify a team culture that motivates quality, productivity, and innovation.
- Provide leadership regarding career growth, coaching, and training.
- Collaborate with other technology leaders and departments to achieve business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience managing Agile teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong experience with Agile Development Practices and Processes, advocating and developing Agile values and principles.
- A hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience working through the challenges of a small and rapidly growing product or service company.
- Practical experience using AI to improve SDLC and processes efficiency.
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) & Delivery (CD) principles, Build and Test Automation.
- Experience with building/delivering scalable microservice-based web applications using REST principles and modern Javascript frameworks.
- Open to constructive feedback, able to manage contrasting opinions and heated discussions.
- Experience with building/delivering distributed, high availability and throughput systems that are easily horizontally scaled is a plus.
- Experience working in a PCI DSS certified environment working with sensitive data is a plus.
