About the Role

The Institutional Securities Group (ISG) is seeking a Vice President for the First Line Central Risk team. This role focuses on the governance of Operational Risk and Resilience cross-divisional activities, aiming to centralize, standardize, and streamline risk management across ISG Business Units.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee risk management practices across Institutional Securities businesses to ensure consistency and support business growth.
  • Establish standards, controls, and integrity for Operational Risk systems and processes.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and reporting of Operational Risk incidents across ISG, ensuring timely escalation.
  • Conduct issue and incident analysis, identify lessons learned, and provide remediation recommendations.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on risk event analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance risk management practices, governance, and organizational resilience.
  • Partner with Firmwide teams and ISG Business Control Units to ensure programmatic requirements are fit-for-purpose and implemented consistently.
  • Lead scenario-based exercises and tabletops for the division on various risks, including external event impacts.
  • Support senior management decision-making through risk insights, challenge, and strategic advisory.
  • Monitor consistency and materiality of key risk indicators and determine appropriate actions, escalating as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of related work experience in risk management functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A strong understanding of the front-office processes is preferred.
  • Experience with Operational Risk governance.
  • Experience with Operational Resilience programs and exercises.
  • Experience with scenario based exercise management.
