About the Role
The Metals team at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to maintain and develop critical process parameters, identify complex problems, and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Take ownership of challenging problems and participate in task force teams for yield, defect, OEE, and scrap reduction.
- Identify KPI performance gaps for ALD process flows and develop projects to close them.
- Produce high-quality, professionally documented reports demonstrating optimized process and equipment states.
- Draw conclusions from statistical analysis and present them with graphical representations.
- Respond to critical fab events, ensuring quick resolution and minimal product impact.
- Generate 8D reports illustrating root cause, corrective actions, and preventative measures.
- Formulate experiments to identify paths for continuous improvement.
- Perform daily monitoring of processes/equipment performance and address abnormal trends.
- Create and update SOPs for process standardization and improved working methods.
- Support cost reduction activities.
- Meet deadlines while producing quality results.
- Adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Interface daily with equipment engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to set priorities and update project status.
- Communicate effectively, especially during changing priorities, to maintain a productive team environment.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in Semiconductor Process Flows.
- Previous experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment desired.
- Applicable manufacturing experience in other industries can be considered.
- Thorough understanding of critical process parameters, monitoring strategies, and equipment signals.
- Highly effective written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
- Must be authorized to access information subject to U.S. export control laws or eligible for government authorization.
- Agree not to disclose or encourage Samsung to use any confidential or proprietary information (including trade secrets) belonging to a current or former employer or other entity.
