About the Role
This role is responsible for maintaining the grounds and outdoor areas of Lake Austin Spa Resort, ensuring a beautiful and welcoming environment for guests. The position involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Plants, waters, cultivates, fertilizes, and weeds gardens
- Mows and weed eats lawn as needed
- Applies pesticides and herbicides as directed
- Digs ditches, holes, and trenches for planting, irrigation, electrical and plumbing needs
- Cleans up trash on grounds and transfers trash and recycling from storage areas and cans to the dumpsters daily
- Performs basic tree and shrub trimming as directed
- Assists with or performs irrigation work as needed
- Cares for and moves outdoor container plants as needed
- Remains overnight in inclement weather as required to assist with the removal of ice from walkways and other work as required
- Assists other departments with moving furniture, boxes, and equipment as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Able to do physical labor and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to use hand and electrical tools associated with landscaping work in a safe and effective manner
- Able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Regular attendance is essential
- Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
