About the Role
US Fertility, a leading partnership of physician-led fertility practices, is seeking a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join the team at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York in New York, New York. Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, and report/maintain patient test results.
- Perform chemiluminescent immunoassays on serum samples using automated equipment, including calibration, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Perform semen analyses, including sperm count, motility, morphology, and viability.
- Perform routine sperm preps for inseminations, maintaining sterile technique.
- Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing (PT) samples are tested consistently with patient specimens.
- Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
- Follow established policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, or notify appropriate personnel.
- Review laboratory operating manuals, quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines.
- Study OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
- Participate in laboratory operations as directed.
- Attend laboratory meetings as requested.
- Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs.
- Attend skill enhancement programs as directed by supervisor.
- Provide assistance and support to RMA of NY satellite laboratories as requested by Laboratory Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelors in a biological or clinical laboratory science required.
- Current NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
- Must demonstrate an aptitude for performance of laboratory services.
- Must have the aptitude to learn to make appropriate judgments about the clinical significance of laboratory data.
- Proven skills to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Ability to work in a high standard, stressful environment.
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
